About

Nomad Sailing is owned and run by Jim Barden and his sister Lou.

Nomad was established in 2008, and after obtaining RYA Recognised Training Centre (RTC) status, has provided shorebased RYA training courses in various locations in London and the South East. Giving sailors the opportunity to learn and refine all the navigation skills, needed on the water, in the comfort of the classroom.

As well as providing scheduled courses throughout the year, Nomad also delivers bespoke theory training to small groups in homes, offices, clubs, workshops!

Although predominantly based in the South East of England, Nomad have delivered courses from Yorkshire down to the Algarve.

Our yacht ‘Nomad’  joined the team in 2011, and after winning a competition thanks to our many followers Nomad 1 had her running rigging completely replaced by Dynema in early 2011. Since then we have had a new main sail and just last week (April 2012) replaced the forestay including a brand new harken roller furling system. Check oput the pictures on Facebook and our website.

Having had new upholstery throughout last year not only is Nomad comfortable but a great boat to sail. As well as being used for training, Nomad will provide our students and others with an affordable and familiar boat to hire and sail throughout the year.

Over the next 2 years we are also introducing some unique sailing holidays and experiences on various waters including the Caribbean, Balearics, Atlantic coast of Spain, Baltic and Scotland.

Team building, discounts and special offers are available please see the relevant pages of the website for details.
